Global temporal typing patterns in foreign language writing: exploring language proficiency through recurrence quantification analysis RQA authored by Lisa Haake, Sebastian Wallot, Monika Tschense, Joachim Grabowski Abstract Recurrence quantification analysis RQA is a time series analysis method that uses autocorrelation properties of typing data to detect regularities within the writing process.

In this article, we present an analysis of 3 writing tasks, ranging from a simplified typing task to an ecological writing task. We show that multiple nonlinear metrics can be used to systematically characterize open, complex writing tasks.

Samples from 91 farmers fields in the main cassava growing areas of coastal and western Kenya were collected and subjected to ELISA and PCR for detection and typing of the begomoviruses present. CMD incidence was highest in western Kenya 80 100 and lowest in the Coast province 25 50 . In Western and Nyanza provinces, 52 of the samples tested contained EACMV UG2, 22 ACMV and 17 contained both ACMV and EACMV UG2.

However, unpractised handwriting yields clearer results than unpractised typing. Lastly, we try to separate the influences of graphomotoric as opposed to orthographic difficulties by having the words composed through pointing on a spelling board .
Most of today s applications rely on primitive modalities, such as typing and pointing for input generation, which works well for a host of common business applications, but falls short for more complex tasks.
