Our former PhD student Thea Wübbelmann was honoured with the Graduate Award 2023 of the German Section of the International Association for Landscape Ecology IALE-D for the best landscape ecology dissertation. Her dissertation "Dynamics of Flood Regulating Ecosystem Services in urban areas Modelling heavy rainfall, climate change impacts and benefits of Nature-based Solutions" dealt with the development and application of various computer-based simulation models for the quantification and mapping of flood-regulating ecosystem services. The focus here was on the effects of heavy rainfall events on urban areas. The award ceremony took place at this year's IALE-D Annual General Assembly in Hannover, where Thea Wübbelmann presented the results of her dissertation in a keynote speech.
