Kick-off meeting of the new EU project MAIA in Wageningen

The new EU Horizon 2020 project MAIA (Mapping and Assessment for Integrated Ecosystem Accounting) was officially launched with the kick-off meeting that took place from January 30 – 31, 2019 at the University of Wageningen, the Netherlands.

The new EU Horizon 2020 project MAIA (Mapping and Assessment for Integrated Ecosystem Accounting) was officially launched with the kick-off meeting that took place from January 30 – 31, 2019 at the University of Wageningen, the Netherlands. Altogethr 18 project partners from 13 EU countries are involved in MAIA. MAIA deals with the establishment of natural capital and ecosystem accounting in the EU member states within Action 5 of Target 2 of the EU Biodiversity Strategy "Mapping and Assessment of Ecosystems and their Services" MAES. The PhyGeo is leading MAIA work package 2 "Testing, piloting and mainstreaming NCA in European countries". The PhyGeo delegation consisted of Benjamin Burkhard and the new PhyGeo colleague Sylvie Campagne, who will start working at LUH in March.
