National Workshop for a future ecosystem accounting in Germany in Hannover

In cooperation with the TU Berlin, the Leibniz Institute of Ecological Urban and Regional Development Dresden (IOER), the FFU Berlin and the Federal Agency for Nature Conservation BfN, the PhyGeo held the first National Workshop for a Future Ecosystem Accounting in Germany in Hannover on 03.03.2020.

The event took place as part of the BfN-funded research project “Integration of ecosystems and ecosystem services into environmental economic accounting. Theoretical framework conditions and methodological foundations” as well as the EU Horizon 2020 project MAIA in the “Royal Stables” of the LUH. Around 30 representatives from various federal ministries, federal offices, research institutions, universities and non-governmental organisations took part. The aims of the event were to present the results of the above-mentioned research projects, to strengthen the network associated with the topic and to develop a roadmap for the implementation of ecosystem accounting at national level in Germany.
