Altogether 17 students from Leibniz Universität Hannover and our ERASMUS partner University Joensuu/Finland (UEF) participated this year in the field course supervised by Benjamin Burkhard, and Bastian Steinhoff-Knopp (both LUH) as well as Timo Kumpula and Eliisa Lotsari (both UEF). Applied landscape ecological field methods included UAV remote sensing with different systems, Terrestrial Laser Scanning (TLS), Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR), Acoustic Doppler Current Profiler (ADCP), GNSS Satellite Positioning, lichen, vegetation and glacial edge mapping, ecosystem services evaluations and peat investigation with a chamber drill. The collected data will be analyzed by the participating students in the second part of the study project in the winter semester 2019/20.
