Finally back to the field!

Despite the windy and rainy weather in Lower Saxony, 13 Master students from the Master programmes Landscape Sciences and the Master Environmental and Regional Planning went to our study area Lamspringe on Thursday, 12.01.2023 in the scope of the seminar "Spatio-temporal ecosystem services analysis and assessment".

During the seminar led by Benjamin Burkhard and Joana Seguin, the students analysed the potential, flow, and demand of different ecosystem services in this region and developed future scenarios for their change that were also displayed in maps. The day excursion is an important complementary learning component to grasp the topic holistically. On site, Dr Bastian Steinhoff-Knopp gave an intensive introduction to measurement and modelling of the ecosystem service "control of erosion rates” at the Lamspringe permanent observation site.
