PhyGeo in the University Magazine "The Earth in Transition"

The current issue of the LUH University Magazine presents topics from the FZ:GEO (Research Centre GEO) under the title "The Earth in Transition".
The Institute of Physical Geography and Landscape Ecology is represented in the current issue of Leibniz University' s research magazine with an article on soil erosion as a risk for agriculture.

Bastian Steinhoff-Knopp, Simone Ott, Jens-André Paffenholz (TU Claustahl) and Benjamin Burkhard present their work on the development of methods to quantify soil loss due to water erosion on arable land. They show how interdisciplinary cooperation between the fields of Geodesy and Geography can contribute to the protection of soils and how new tools for monitoring programmes to observe erosion can be developed.
